Elizabeth “Liz” Morey was hooked on horse racing the first time her father took her to the track. While attending UC Berkeley, she seized the opportunity to take out her galloping license at Golden Gate Fields, and a few years later married second-generation trainer Billy Morey. She has been an integral part of his training operation ever since.

Her first success as a bloodstock agent came in 2013, when she purchased a $40,000 RNA two-year-old in training who went on to become multiple stakes winner and producer City by the Bay. That experience reinforced a core principle: value often exists outside the obvious.

In recent years, she has translated her experience into structured analysis—using data to identify opportunity, and horsemanship to select the right individuals from those groups.
