OBS April Partnership

Hound House is assembling a small partnership to acquire three horses at the upcoming OBS April Sale. The focus is simple: identify high-quality individuals with the right combination of pedigree, physical, and performance—then place them in a program designed to give them every opportunity to succeed.

This is a straightforward structure built around alignment: disciplined buying, transparent costs, and experienced management from purchase through racing.

  • We are targeting a specific profile of horse:

    • Sires with proven runners of racing age

    • Strong, correct physicals with athletic movement

    • Clean veterinary evaluations

    • Fast, efficient works paired with strong gallop-outs

    • Kentucky-bred and New York-bred horses only

    The goal is not volume—it’s precision. Each horse must meet a consistent standard across data, inspection, and on-track performance.

  • This partnership is designed to be simple and aligned:

    • Horses will be purchased and owned through a shared partnership structure

    • Minimum share: 10%

    • All purse earnings distributed pro rata to partners

    • No hidden fees or layered economics

    All horses will be trained by Billy Morey, with day-to-day management handled through Hound House.

  • Transparency is a core principle:

    • Target purchase price: $75,000 – $125,000 per horse

    • Buyers pay actual purchase price + 5% selection commission to Hound House

    • Monthly expenses billed at cost with no markup or management fee

    • No additional commissions beyond standard trainer and barn staff percentages

    This structure ensures incentives remain aligned—performance drives returns.
